Scotland, and in particular the Scottish Highlands, have much on offer for the mountain landscape photographer and the outdoor enthusiast. From the few roads that penetrate the Highlands, it is possible to soak up the mountain landscape, if you venture on foot you will most likely have the wilderness to yourself to savour.

My favourite areas of the Scottish Highlands are Glencoe, Isle of Skye, Torridon and Wester Ross. I have spent many a photography trip in the Scottish Highlands; in particular I like to be there in the depths of winter when the light is magical and the midges are few.
